Suratma East India Companioni Kothio by Hiromu Nagashima explores the locations, architectural layouts, internal facilities, and ownership details of the factories (kothīs) set up by the English, Dutch, French, and Swedish East India Companies in Surat during the 17th–18th centuries. Drawing from archival records, early maps (notably a 1730 multi-colour Mughal map), and building plans, the work reconstructs how these trade posts functioned as integrated residential and commercial centers.
